Overview

Description

This course introduces students to the concepts, principles, and procedures social work practitioners and researchers use to analyze, interpret, and present data. Emphasis is placed on developing the knowledge, values, and skills needed to analyze and interpret one’s own practice effectiveness, as well as critically evaluate the assessment and research findings of others. Instruction in computer-assisted quantitative data analyses (e.g., Excel and SPSS) is provided. In addition, an introduction to the formative and process evaluation approaches commonly used by health and human services programs is also provided.
