Learning Outcomes
- demonstrate understanding of Code of Ethics and educational and licensure requirements for Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology.
- discuss different work settings for and explain how legislations and regulation shape the scope of practice for Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists in those work settings.
- demonstrate introductory knowledge of normal communication processes as related to normal anatomy and physiology of speech, language and hearing mechanisms.
- identify and explain legislative initiatives, and policy changes to address historical underrepresentation and barriers experienced by persons with communication impairments and other disabilities in the US.
- demonstrate the ability to retrieve scholarly resources and incorporate them into written work utilizing APA format.
