Learning Outcomes
- practically examine ethical issues by conducting research through the interaction with older adults and their caregivers (e.g., protection of privacy, confidentiality, informed consent, etc.).
- engage in the methods of applied behavioral research including direct observation and self-report methods including interviews and questionnaires.
- demonstrate a knowledge of conceptual, methodological, and practical aspects of conducting applied research including: a) the role of theory, b) research literature searches, c) methodological and practical considerations in data collection, d) data management, and e) issues that affect overall study organization.
