Learning Outcomes
- demonstrate ability to effectively work with those affected by memory disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease and detect how these disorders impact the behavior of older adults.
- engage in effective communication with older adults with dementia.
- document observations of during interactions with older adults with memory disorders.
- facilitate pleasant experiences that result in positive effects on the mood and behavior of older adults with memory disorders.
- critically evaluate the ethical issues that may arise in providing services to older adults (e.g., protection of privacy, confidentiality, informed consent, etc.) and elder abuse reporting requirements for psychologists.
