Overview
Description
This 4-week course in both ambulatory and inpatient care of patients commonly encountered in a general gynecologic oncology practice, is designed for highly motivated students interested in surgery, gynecology, oncology. Students will be considered a member of the health care team and participate under faculty supervision in both ambulatory and inpatient care. Call schedule is to be arranged with faculty

- develop a professional attitude towards patient care that emphasizes empathy, confidentiality, and ethical decision-making in the context of gynecologic oncology.
- understand the epidemiology, pathophysiology, risk factors, and screening guidelines for common gynecologic cancers.
- gain proficiency in performing comprehensive gynecologic examinations, recognizing abnormalities that may indicate malignancy, and conducting initial workups for suspected gynecologic cancers.
