Overview
Description
Research Methods is a required course in the NevadaTeach sequence but not limited to NevadaTeach preservice teachers. The course provides preservice teachers with an understanding of how to engage in classroom-based research at all levels. Topics include creation of qualitative and quantitative studies, data analysis of both types of studies, as well as action research as a possible classroom activity.

- explain the benefits and limitations of different research methods in classroom contexts.
- apply ethical standards to your research and treat human subjects in an ethical fashion.
- analyze existing research with a specific focus or rationale, questions asked, methods used, and conclusions drawn.

- write a research study and/or a literature review consistent with the standards of the field of inquiry.
