Overview

Description

Compliant use of Type B and fissile certified packages. Overviews of US CFRs, DOE orders, packaging COCs and SARPs. Systematic approaches for characterizing radioactive materials, selecting appropriate packaging, and complying with applicable regulations. Practical exercises with Type B and Type AF trainer units. This course is offered primarily at Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico, and may occasionally be offered at other authorized locations. Students are responsible for all national laboratory fees and expenses associated with the course location.
