Overview
Description
This course helps undergraduate international students develop academic English language & study skills in order to participate in university-level courses & produce coherent academic writing. Students practice listening, reading, writing, speaking, & increasing their active academic vocabulary. Integrated skill development helps students acquire critical thinking skills, note-taking strategies, & the ability to produce presentations and writing appropriate for a university classroom.

- apply reading strategies, such as skimming and scanning, to identify key information in academic texts.

- write clear, well-developed, coherent paragraphs that reflect academic writing conventions.
- develop a clear, well-organized essay by revising multiple drafts.
