Learning Outcomes

  • sing, play, and teach a body of songs, games, and activities appropriate for children in grades K-6.
  • play, accompany, and teach the piano, guitar, various voices of recorder, hand drums, other unpitched and pitched rhythm instruments as well as utilize them appropriately in the elementary music classroom.
  • create and implement clearly written, age-appropriate lesson plans intended for use in the elementary music classroom and extend those lessons into units.
  • indentify and apply instructional and management strategies for teaching at this level.
  • compose arrangements suitable for various elementary grade levels.
  • reflect upon and assess their own and other’s teaching and learning through discussions and assignments.
