  • take part in successful teaching experiences with high school students under the mentorship of experienced teachers.
  • indentify best practices of various components of teaching, e.g. curricular choices, sequencing, and assessment, utilized by high school music teachers.
  • discuss how students of different abilities can be accommodated in the music classroom.
  • indentify classroom management strategies and describe the impact that management (or lack thereof) has on a music classroom.
  • reflect upon and compare curricular choices of high school music teachers.
  • observe and apply routines, procedures, and schedules that make high school music programs work successfully.
  • discuss the impact of National, State, and District Standards as well as the Common Core on music programs.
  • articulate how students and student learning impact teacher choices in the music classroom through written assignments and verbal discussions.
