Learning Outcomes

  • play one octave scales and corresponding arpeggios in the major keys of C, G, D, A, and E as well as transposing easy melodies in these keys.
  • recognize and play major, minor, augmented, and diminished triads and build V7 chord in root position.
  • recognize and play triads in the above major keys and apply this knowledge to harmonizing melodies.
  • play solo pieces of a late-Elementary level (short easy classical and jazz style) with adequate coordination and accuracy.
