Description
Study of blood banking and transfusion medicine emphasizing immunologic principles of blood group antigens and antibodies. Topics include donor screening, component therapy, ABO/Rh and other blood group systems, pre-transfusion and compatibility testing, and antibody ID. Covers HDFN, neonatal/obstetrical transfusions, autoimmune hemolytic anemias, and transfusion reactions. Emphasis on safety, quality, and clinical application.
