- perform and interpret serological assays, including agglutination, precipitation, ELISA, molecular and immunofluorescence techniques.
- evaluate the utility and limitations of serological testing in the detection and monitoring of disease.
- apply principles of quality control, quality assurance, and laboratory safety to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and safety of testing procedures and results.
- identify pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical causes of error in laboratory testing.
- apply laboratory safety practices by using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), following biosafety protocols, and properly disposing of biohazardous materials.
