- formulate a real-world problem as a mathematical programming model.
- demonstrate understanding of the theoretical workings of the simplex method for linear programming and perform sensitivity analysis to determine the direction and magnitude of change of a model’s optimal solution as the data change.
- solve specialized linear programming problems like the transportation and assignment problems.
- model a dynamic system as a queuing model and compute important performance measures.
- solve network models like the shortest path, minimum spanning tree, and maximum flow problems.
- understand and apply project management techniques like CPM & PERT for evaluation of project performance & scheduling.
- demonstrate understanding of basic statistical concepts, such as, sampling and descriptive statistics, probability, measurement of error, probability distributions (binomial, poisson, normal, central limit theorem, etc.), and confidence intervals.
