Overview
Description
This course introduces the fundamentals of mining and metallurgical engineering, covering the full value chain from resource extraction to refined metals. Topics include mining methods, mine planning, ventilation, geomechanics, materials handling, and blasting, along with ore processing, metal extraction, and refining. Emphasis is placed on sustainability, permitting, land use, mine closure, and circular economy principles connecting mining, metallurgy, and environmental systems.
