- explain the proper use of microbial control methods and diagnostics when combating infectious diseases.
- relate infectious diseases to immunology, the importance of vaccines, and antibiotic resistance.
- discuss different disease-causing microbes and describe key factors associated with their pathogenicity.
- demonstrate the use of laboratory techniques, diagnostic methods and critical thinking in the context of identifying and differentiating microbes.
- recognize, articulate, and communicate, both orally and in writing, complex conceptual ideas related to microbial pathogenesis, infectious disease, and epidemiology.
