Description
This course introduces the technologies and principles of extracting and refining metals by hydrometallurgical, pyrometallurgical, and electrometallurgical methods.
Students will study aqueous and high-temperature processing, reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, and electrochemical fundamentals. Industrial case studies—such as Cu SX-EW, Ni HPAL, Fe/steel smelting, and Al electrolysis—demonstrate modern practice and sustainability issues.
