- explain the concepts of main extractive metallurgical processes and how to utilize them to produce metals from their raw materials as well as secondary materials.
- develop their decision-making skills which are required for the design, improvement, operation and profitability of extractive metallurgical processing.
- evaluate the importance of environmental and economic challenges of metal production in a global context. Students will analyze the role of various processes in extractive metallurgy towards achieving sustainable resource production.
- identify, explain, and understand how to mitigate hazards and environmental burdens of extractive metallurgical processes.
