Overview
Description
Students will learn about election reporting, its value to democracy and how to establish pop up newsrooms to create their own published content. Duties will include multimedia reporting in breaking news, features and analysis, election day and post-election coverage, social media teamwork, data mining, journalism design work, and podcasting. Reporting on same topics / candidates / events can be done in teams as long as each team member contributes a different type of media content. Students will also reflect on the value of journalism to democracy in history, the present and possible future.

- assess the state of election reporting from the past to the present as it moves into the future.
- gain knowledge on election media players and models both locally and nationally.
