- identify documentary styles, evaluate which style best suits a given story and apply it to create and produce a documentary film.
- construct a compelling narrative video story using appropriate visual and audio elements.
- plan and schedule the production of a documentary film.
- identify films of similar theme to the student’s project and be able to explain how his/her project fits into and adds to the current body of work in the field.
- manage a production team and their schedule.
- set up interviews and story shoots.
- collect video materials and choose what to include in the final documentary.
- screen their work for test audiences and interpret audience written feedback.
- revise scripts and video work with peer, audience and professor input.
- select a key target audience and assess how best to reach them.
- score teammates based on negotiated roles and how their work did or did not meet those expectations.
