- discuss and summarize the history, major issues and trends in the field of online education.
- demonstrate familiarity with the theoretical foundation of online teaching and learning.
- define different types of online learning.
- demonstrate knowledge and skills in each of the four stages of online instructional design (analysis, design, implementation, and evaluation).
- design a framework of an online course.
- demonstrate compentency by completing an online instructional unit and delivering it via WebCT online course system.
- determine appropriate way and choose effective tools to conduct online communication for the online instructional unit.
- evaluate the quality of online instructions according to a Web-based instructional design model.
- determine at least one topic that the student can continue for his/her further research.
- demonstrate the capacity to critically evaluate literature in online learning and teaching.
