- analyze and understand the dynamics and complexities of the African Diaspora in an increasingly globalized world.
- analyze and discuss processes that contributed to the creation and re-constitution of the African Diaspora, including forced migrations of African captives to the New World, colonialism, work migrations, and voluntary migrations.
- analyze and understand the experience of the African Diaspora in “host” countries and how members of the Diaspora have struggled for equality and inclusion.
- critically examine cultural sources and make well-supported claims about the contribution of the African Diaspora to the modern world.
