Description
Evaluates the integration of science, technology, culture, policy, and economics in international issues of water use and development. (GEOG 400 and NRES 400 are cross-listed; credit may be earned in one of the two.)

- use (in writing) the appropriate metrics and language to evaluate the context of several different water-related situations common throughout the world.
- synthesize materials and argue persuasively (in writing and in an oral conference-style presentation) about a contemporary water issue of international significance.
- explain (in writing and through discussion), the history, parties, uncertainties, strategies, mechanisms, and future prospects for a current international water treaty.
- synthesize information (in writing) about how social equity, cultural norms, security considerations, and/or the time scale of problem evolution influence decision-making about water in various parts of the world.
