- analyze the traditional forms, line/enjambment, imagery and metaphor, meter, and rhyme and free verse using elements of poetic craft and technique.
- analyze various debates concerning the contemporary poetry publishing landscape and articulate their own opinions.
- analyze and describe their creative work within the context of historical trends/movements and genres in poetry.
- constructively criticize poetry written by peers, both in writing and discussion.
- apply literary editing methods to compile and revise a portfolio of their own creative work.
