Learning Outcomes
- demonstrate, in group discussions and writing assignments an understanding of how and when mathematical knowledge in the domains of number and operations, patterns, space and geometry, and data representation and analysis develop from infancy through early childhood.
- identify, in group discussions, writing assignments and an oral presentation, developmentally appropriate activities to support young children’s early mathematical development in the home and early childhood education environments.
- articulate, in group discussions and writing assignments, an understanding of some of the risk factors for mathematics delays or disabilities, and identify effective strategies for early prevention and intervention.
