- reflect on one’s efficacy in the planning and teaching of lessons designed for middle school students by creating and implementing a lesson within ones content area which incorporates Vygotsky’s Theory on assisted learning and scaffolding.
- describe and analyze the characteristics of middle school students by applying Erickson’s Theory to scenarios and reflect in a case study analysis.
- assess individual student characteristics and adjust instruction appropriately by designing and implementing a lesson that incorporates Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences.
- describe means by which instruction at the middle school level can incorporate active rather than passive learning by explaining in a two page paper how teacher expectations influence active learning in the classroom.
