Overview

Description

This class investigates cinematic approaches to dance choreography and performance. Students learn the creative and technical skills needed to create short dance films including conceptualization, directing, recording, lighting, and editing. As a practice-led course, students gain hands-on experience in creating dance for camera. The coursework will include screendance viewings, history and theory readings, studio practice, independent projects, and collaborative work.
