- demonstrate understanding of the theoretical and clinical aspects of culturally competent counseling, including the impacts of historical, philosophical, societal, cultural, economic, and political dimensions on the counseling relationship.
- demonstrate knowledge of the characteristics and needs of culturally diverse clients served in community agencies by understanding the roles, functions, and professional identity of counselors.
- identify and understand implications of professional issues relevant to multicultural counseling including the cultural competencies mandated by the American Counseling Association.
