Overview
Description
Overview of the fundamentals of genetics including the structure and function of genes, DNA replication and recombination, mutation, protein synthesis, and a survey of the regulation of gene expression, epigenetics, DNA technology and gene therapy. Students will explore the molecular basis for heredity, variation, and evolution from both scientific and societal perspectives, and examine pertinent topics in human genetics. Credit not allowed in both BIOL 300 and BIOL 304.
