Description
A global survey of the history of photography from proto-photography issues before the 19th century to 21st-century post-photography cases. The course addresses photography as a technological, social, and artistic medium, an experimental and cultural production, and a colonial and decolonial practice.

- explain critical visual, cultural, social, and technological aspects of photographic and artistic referential works.
- use primary and secondary sources from interrelated disciplinary fields of Art History, History, Visual Culture, and Cultural Studies to critically discuss issues concerning race, social class, or gender in photography.
