Learning Outcomes

  • demonstrate advanced competencies in verbal and written analysis of visual image making.
  • present and develop the ten points of critical analysis throughout the semester during in class discussions on lecture material. Students will be required to demonstrate their ability to articulate the ten points of critical analysis in both mid-term and final research papers.
  • develop individual research projects that analyze contemporary practices in the areas of photographic arts and social practices.
  • demonstrate a synthesis of knowledge, skills and advanced competency in photographic arts with the ability to apply theoretical methods to critical analysis of the photographic image.
  • articulate the visual language of photography and its relationship to other academic disciplines. Comprehension will be assessed through discussions, mid term writing and final research paper.
