  • describe and recognize in verbal and written form the formal qualities of a work of art as a means to understand how technical and compositional components function as one level of interpretation.
  • identify and critically apply a wide range of Art Historical methodologies that impact the way we study, receive, and ultimately understand a work of art.
  • effectively compose written assessments in the form of in-class exercises, exams and two research essays the cultural and historical significance of select works of art.
