AM 380 provides engaged service-learning through volunteer opportunities with deaf students in local K-12 schools. Experiential learning paired with academic instruction will teach students how best to serve this unique population. This course will also examine the demographics of the deaf students in our area and help them identify a variety of signed communication systems. AM 380 requires critical reflection about, and emphasizes a deep respect for, marginalized populations.
